E L E V E N Months!

Oh my goodness... in one month Sophie will be a YEAR old! I am having such a hard time figuring out where the time is gone. This past month Sophie has changed so much. She is doing so many new things and her personality is showing more and more.

* Sophie is pulling up onto EVERYTHING! She even gets onto her tippy toes and lifts her leg to try and get up onto things. She is such a dare devil and will take chances to get whatever she wants. I love when she crawls over and pulls herself up and stands next to me waiting for me to pick her up.
* Our growing girl has figured out how to balance and stand all by herself for about a minute. Even if she begins to topple over she can regain her balance for a few more seconds.
* Sophie will try to mimic what we say. She may not make out full words but she is picking up on some sounds and it sometimes sounds like what we are telling her to say. If we say something she will move her mouth and try to copy what we do without making a sound. It is so cute! One word that we know she knows is dada. If we ask where is dada she will look at Josh and say, "dada". I am trying to teach her to say, "ALL DONE" so that she will tell me that she is finished eating instead of rubbing her food all over her tray. Right now when she repeats me it sounds like, "ah- da"
* She will point to things she wants or sees.
* Sophie will eat whatever we put in front of her. She is such a great eater and loves her fruits, veggies, and some meats.
* We have so much fun playing with Sophie. She loves things that make music the most so she can dance and sing along.
* Erin (Sophie's WONDERFUL daycare provider) taught Soph to raise her arms up high when she is asked, how big is Sophie?
* Last week (the first week in May) Sophie took two steps all by herself!
* She is now wearing 12 month clothing. There are a few 9 month onsies that she can fit into but not many.

[i carry your heart with me(i carry it in]
BY E. E. CUMMINGS

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

WOW!!!

Grammie Sophie's Aunt Mary (aka GranMary) is extremely talented... you can tell by looking at the pictures below. We saw a bed set at Ikea, got inspired, and shared our inspiration with GranMary. Then she was able to take our ideas and create everything we imagined. Words can't even explain how thrilled we are about how our bedroom set turned out. We still have some work to do to finish decorating our bedroom but this is a GREAT start.

Enjoying This Spring Weather

Spring break was a bit of a bust.... we were all sick! We had planned to go to San Diego for my mom's cousin's wedding and hang out on the beach with some family for a bit. Instead we did our best to get well and got some things accomplished around the house. Josh hung some things up around the house, replaced the garbage disposal, and installed a new faucet. While I sewed some new pillow covers and disinfected our house.

This past weekend we finally had the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful Arizona spring weather. We had a picnic with my parents on Saturday afternoon and walked around the Riparian Preserve. It was amazing! The park was so beautiful and made us feel like we were outside of the city.

Thank you Grammie for these totally cool sun glasses!!!!

10 Months Old

* Sophie can now push up onto all fours and crawl around. She stays on all fours while on the carpet but plops onto her belly when she gets into the kitchen.
* Around the first week of March, Sophie cut her first two teeth. They are not fully up but they have definitely made their grand appearance. It has been a painful experience but our little girl is a trooper!
* Soph knows exactly where they plastic containers are and loves to crawl into the kitchen to play with them!

*This has been an unhealthy month for Soph. She had double ear infections twice, a cold, breathing treatments for a yucky cough, pink eye, and a lingering ear infection in her left ear. It is unbelievably frustrating to see her in so much pain and discomfort (mostly at night). Most days it's difficult to even know she is sick because she is such a happy baby. On the days she sleeps for hours, wants nothing more than to snuggle up in our arms, and whimpers it is heartbreaking.

* Sophie learned to wave bye- bye.
* * Sophie loves to pull herself up onto things these days! I think she is proud of herself because once she stands up all the way she will bounce/dance out of excitement.
* She can now walk around with the little dinosaur toy by herself!
* She loves to EAT! Her favorites are bananas, blueberries, apples, green beans, peas and carrots.
* Sophie's nine month jeans are like high waters on her... she is now wearing 12 month clothes!!!
* We have tried feeding Soph pureed meats and she is not a big fan of them.
* Sophie is an awesome sleeper! We usually put her down around 7:30 and she sleeps peacefully until 6:30 in the morning when I wake her up to start the day.

Sophie is growing up so quickly. She is learning new things everyday and never ceases to amaze us.

March 16th

Happy Birthday to the world's best husband and daddy!

Project #2

We found this great cedar chest at Zinnia's Antique Mall in Phoenix and Josh refinished it to look perfect in our house. It is a great place for Sophie's toys and pretty darn cute if I do say so myself!
