With just a little bit of hair and only two teeth she still looks like a baby, but Sophie is becoming such a big girl.
* Sophie is 70% walking these days. She will crawl over to us or a wall to pull herself up and take off. Sometimes she even trys to run but that puts her right back onto her hands and knees. Soph can stop herself if she feels like she is going to fall and regain her balance to continue walking. (This was typed up the 17th and on the 18th she figured out how to stand up all by herself. After that she has not done much crawling at all. If she falls down from walking she says, "Up", and starts all over again.) She has become a pro at walking and talking on the phone... which is pretty impressive if you ask us. If she drops her phone (or any other toy that she is holding) while she is walking she is able to bend down, get it, and then stand up again.
* Sophie tries to mimic us more and more these days. Her first word was dada and it still is the easiest thing for her to say. She rarely says mama except for if she cries for me. When Lucy barks, Sophie will yell at her and say, "Stop". She can identify a duck and say its name. Soph can roar... it is definately the cutest roar I have ever heard. She has mastered the word, UP. She says, "UP", to get into her high chair, to be picked up, to stand up, to get out of something, or just randomly when she doesn't know what to say. It is adorable! Other words that she is trying to say... trash, diaper, dog, done, and down. She mostly says the beginning sound of all of these words.
* Sophie continues to be a great eater. Our biggest problem is that she smears her food into her hair when she is done.
* Her favorite things to play with are her baby, shape sorter, blanket, and her favorite red necklace. Sophie also turns anything into a phone and holds it up to her ear and starts talking. She loves walking around the house with a "phone" in one hand, her necklaces on, baby in the other hand, and her "purse" aka shape sorter box on her arm.
* We have weaned Soph off the paci during our car rides. She only uses them when she sleeps.
* When we change Sophie's diaper she helps us take her diaper to the trash can.
* She loves brushing her teeth! She sort of will let me help her brush her two teeth but she is so happy when she gets to do it herself.
* Sophie can point to her nose, eyes, and mouth when asked.
* She laughs the hardest whenever she plays with her daddy!
* Sophie loves to tickle daddy. When I say, "tickle daddy", she uses one finger and barely touches him. It is so cute! Sometimes she even tries to tickle herself.
* Her favorite songs/rhymes are Pat-a-Cake and If You're Happy and You Know It
Sophie is hilarious! Her personality is developing more and more everyday. We love watching her grow and change but wish it didn't go by so quickly.
