We found this great cedar chest at Zinnia's Antique Mall in Phoenix and Josh refinished it to look perfect in our house. It is a great place for Sophie's toys and pretty darn cute if I do say so myself!

Nifty Nine

* Sophie is always on the go and still army crawling all over the place.
* Sophie decided that pureed food is for babies and that she is a BIG girl! She flat out refused them for a while and even spit it back out or gagged if it got close to her mouth. What a stinker! She now eats some pureed food but mostly itty bitty pieces of other food. She love, love, loves blueberries!
* Soph is still a little bookworm!
* She is still a chatter box and loves to tell us stories and sometimes serenades us with little songs. She makes the sweetest sounds I've ever heard.
* For a while we just put Sophie in size 4 diapers just before going to bed but have transitioned to using 4's all day long.
* This growing baby is wearing a very few 6-9 month clothes but mostly 9 month clothes
* She is anxious to be able to walk on her own. For Christmas she got a little walker dinosaur and she loves to use that to help her around (with little assistance from us).
* At Sophie's nine month check up she weighed 19lbs and 13oz which puts her in the 75th percentile for her weight. She is 28.5 inches tall and in the 90th percentile for her length. As we were leaving the office her doctor told us that we needed to make her next appointment in three months for her 12 month wellness check up... GULP! I can't believe that one year is sneaking up on us!
* Josh's nickname for her is Chunky Monkey or just Chunky these days.
* She LOVES Lucy! These days she gives her great big hugs and is learning to be gentle with her. Lucy is very patient and lets her snuggle her for a bit.
* Taking a bath is one of Sophie's favorite things to do! I love wrapping her up and snuggling her in her towel after... She is just so darn cute!
* Playtime is so much fun with Sophie. She is a hoot to watch and just as sweet as can be!

EXCITING NEWS
Drum roll please...
SOPHIE CAN ARMY CRAWL!!! She digs her itty bitty toes into the ground, pushes her bum up into the air, reaches those hands out, and pulls herself forward. She can rotate her body to face different directions too! Although she has her own toys to crawl to, she is most eager to get to Lucy's toys. Josh and I were just wondering when she would reach this mile stone and thought that she was going to decide to skip crawling and start walking. However, she fooled us both and has decided that she will do things in her own time. We are so proud of our daughter!!

8 Months
Here are some fun facts about Sophie these days...
*On Sophie's 8 Month Birthday she decided that her mommy and daddy deserved a great night of sleep and slept from 8:30- 5:30am! It was such a treat!
* Sophie learned to army crawl on the 25th of January.
* Sophie loves to repeat us when we say Da-da. She is trying other sounds but that is the most clear.
* My friend told me about these rice crackers called, Mum Mum. So we went out and bought them for Sophie and she absolutely LOVES them. She also likes Cheerios, rice puffs, noodles, and bread.
* When Soph gets happy or excited about something her feet move in circles! We call them her "Happy Feet!"
* Erin, Sophie's babysitter, is AMAZING! Sophie loves going to her every morning and enjoys playing with her buddies! She even comes home with art projects! We are working on putting her art work on display at home!
* We are a bit biased but we think Soph is the cutest little girl on the planet!!!

New Year, New Beginnings
New House- We were busting at the seems at our townhouse and had to find something BIGGER! After months of searching we found a great home in Gilbert. Josh and I have always loved the area where we have settled in and wanted to live around here. We feel so blessed to have found this house and absolutely love all of the space we have. It is so nice to be living in a nice neighborhood and so close to the park that Josh purposed to me at. :)
New Daycare Provider- A week and a half before school got out for winter break, Sophie's daycare provider handed Josh a refund check and said that she could no longer provide care for Sophie. Apparently it was to much work to have a baby along with 3 toddlers. I have never been so angry and hurt. Immediately, we decided that we would never take her back and began the search for someone else. It was so difficult not to quit my job (which I love) and just stay home with our baby. But after a lot of prayer and support from friends, we found someone! This lady is AMAZING and she has made this transition so smooth. She and her family love Sophie to pieces and Soph loves them too. When she gets to her house she is so excited to see her friends and dives into her babysitters arms. There haven't been any rough days at her new sitters. She is sleeping well, waking up happy, playing with kids, participating during circle time, and even making art projects! Although we would love to be home with Sophie, we feel like this is a great place for her to be during the day.
God has given us so many things to be thankful for in 2011 already. We are looking forward to see what else He has in store for us this year.
