HANDYMAN

My husband is without a doubt a jack of all trades. He amazes me with all that he does to help around our house either to fix something or spruce it up. I couldn't be more proud to say that he is all mine and absolutely wonderful at whatever he decides to do.

17 and 18 months Old

Sophie has grown so much in these past two months. It's incredible how much a little human can learn in such a short period of time. Here is what our one and a half year old is up to...

* Sophie is transitioning from two naps to one afternoon nap.
* She goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up at 6 almost on the dot. For a couple weeks she was waking up between 5 and 5:30 in the morning ready to play and eat! Thank goodness we are back on a schedule that makes EVERYONE happy!
* Sophie is a pretty good eater. She loves hot dogs, bananas, animal crackers, raisins, and cheese. She isn't a big fan of meat, eggs, or potatoes. Sophie loves ranch and ketchup just like her daddy!!
* Soph loves to play outside and go for walks. She loves the texture of walking on rocks and loves running around on our grass. If we go outside, she loves to invite Lucy and holds her leash.
* Her favorite things to play inside are her baby, her dinosaur walker, mommy and daddy's clothes/shoes, and her blankets.
* Her teeth are starting to come in. She has at least four fully through on the top and only two on the bottom. However, her molars and some other teeth are starting to push their way through.
* She and Josh both had the stomach flu a couple weeks ago. :(
* I love that she is a mommy and daddy's girl!
* At 16 months-ish she was saying at least 35-40 words. Now, we cannot even keep count of the things she is saying these days. She is counting to ten (minus seven and eight) and saying simple sentences. She will say things like, " I want to go outside", " I don't know," " .... in the car," "Where'd he go?" We love that she communicates so well and can tell us what she wants these days.
* Sophie is very POLITE! She will say please and thank you without having to be asked and sometimes she will even apologize if she does something "naughty". If someone sneezes (including herself) she will say, bless you.
* Listening to her say, I love you, is the sweetest thing in the world!
* Sophie loves to sing songs. Some of her favorites are the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Skidamarinka Dinka Dink, Twinkle Twinkle, Row Row Your Boat, Ring Around the Rosie, Wheels On The Bus, and Head and Shoulders.
* Sophie really really enjoys watching Kipper before bed!
* Soph refers to Josh as Dada, Daddy (which sometimes sounds like Ducky), Josh, and Babe.
* Sophie's Stats: Height 32.5 in and Weight 27 lbs
* Sophie is learning the color red.


Josh and I fall in love with our Sophie girl more and more everyday. She is bright, full or personality, spunky, stubborn, funny, creative, loving, helpful, and so much more. She is PERFECT in every way!!!!

Fall 2011

Its pretty safe to say that Miss. Sophie had a fun Halloween this year. She picked out her own costume, went trick-or-treating, and painted her own pumpkin. Here are some pictures from her night of Halloween fun...

Let the festivities begin!

Josh's brother and his fiance are getting married in about 2 months! Last weekend, we had so much fun showering Stephanie (our soon to be sister in law). We are so excited for their marriage and are having so much fun celebrating this special time with them.

It's POTTY Time

Sophie is always joining us in the bathroom (whether we want privacy or not) so I thought I would let her experience sitting on the big potty too. I casually did this a couple of times when I noticed that she had to go and surprisingly she picked up things very quickly. We mentioned to her babysitter that she was starting to use the potty and she jumped on board with us (which is a huge help). A couple weekends ago, Josh bought Sophie her own potty and she loves going in it. After she goes we celebrate by cheering and she gets a "M.M.". Not only are we extremely proud of our little smarty pants but she is pretty proud of herself too.

School Festival.... Take 2

Josh's school has this annual tradition of putting on a huge Halloween festival. Part of the tradition is where the kids dress up in their costumes, play games, and eat lots of candy. Sophie likes to join the fun and put on her costume too...

First Hair Cut

Auntie Nae is a PRO at cutting hair and she did such a GREAT job giving Sophie her first hair cut. It was quick, painless, and easy going! Sophie is no longer sporting her mini mullet and looks cuter than ever!

Crafting

A couple weeks ago, my sister in law and I got together to plan for our soon to be sister in law's bridal shower. While shopping for our supplies at the wonderful Hobby Lobby, we picked up a few extra things for Soph. We couldn't pass up this cute zebra print dress, felt buttons, and hot pink leggings! Putting it together was incredibly simple and now you can you see why we couldn't resist!! She is so stinkin' cute in her new outfit!

Two little doggies

Not only does Lucy know how to use the doggy door... so does Sophie! The first time she did it we just sat and watched as Soph proudly climbed right out of the doggy door. After, she peered into look at us snapping pictures of our little doggy (I mean our little girl). It may have been a mistake just to sit and watch the first time because we ended up having a hard time keeping her indoors afterward. I ended up having to put the little door in so that Lucy couldn't use it anymore. Oh-well!

Pretty Toes

Sophie loves to make her toes pretty. She sits so patiently as I paint her toes and helps me blow on them when I am finished. I just L.O.V.E. mommy and Sophie time!
