At Sophie's 4 month check up her doctor told us that she can start eating rice cereal. So, right after her appointment I ran strait to the store to get some for her to have for dinner. Eating has always been one of Sophie's favorite parts of the day but adding rice cereal to her diet makes her day! Her first rice cereal eating experience was a little messy but she has become a pro slurping it off of her spoon! She loves to try and hold the spoon herself and can get it into her mouth but sometimes she likes to sneak her other fingers in her mouth too.
Now that Soph has rice cereal to gobble down for dinner eating she is sleeping without interuptions at night. I hardly wake up to put her paci back!!

4 Months Old
I can't believe it! Only four months ago our precious little girl was born! Time is going by so quickly and Sophie is growing like a weed! She weighs 14.13lbs which puts her in the 75th percentile for her weight and she is 25.5in long which is in the 90th percentile for her length. Can you believe it? Josh teases that she will be taller than me by the time she is 12 and I completely agree.
Sophie is also a little chatter box. She loves to make sweet little noises to talk to us. Occasionally lets out a scream or two to let us know what she wants or doesn't want. I love that she has found her voice because it is so stinking cute. I could listen to her all day long and watch her facial expressions as she is trying to make different sounds.
She has just mastered the front to back roll. She also loves to scoot. She kicks and pushes her way around on her belly to move into new positions or a different spot. She doesn't move very far but I have a feeling that she will get the hang of crawling very easily.
God has truly blessed us with Sophie! She is the most wonderful baby in the world!

Sophie's Baby Dedication
On September 12th, we dedicated Sophie at our church. Sophie and Delbert are in charge of all of the baby dedications at Rio and I think that this was one of the most special ones that they have done. I enjoyed as they reflected back upon Josh's dedication and as they both shared how proud they were to be grandparents. It was truly special to have our families and church friends stand by as we made this commitment to our daughter.

TWIRL
Josh and I talk regularly about how we want Sophie to be raised and the values that we want to instill in her. Today, I came across this blog post that really spoke to me. The bible verse that this blogger was inspired by is a perfect reminder of God's unconditional love. A love that we want Sophie to know. Among all of the other things that are so important to teach our daughter we always remind her of the truth that she was wonderfully made and that HE delights in her!

Room Update
This post is long overdue! We had these great vinyl prints made to match the flowers in the fabric that we picked out for Sophie's room a while ago and we are so happy with the way they turned out. I took a picture of the fabric and the talented Lisa at D&L Press created these for us. I didn't know that she would be able to make them to match perfectly but THEY DO!
She used this picture to create the vinyl prints! Amazing huh!?!?
TAA-DAA!!!!
