Sophie the Bookworm
Amanda and Amber Visit
Last year at school I had the privilege of working with Amanda and Amber on the third grade team. We have had fun getting to know each other and we have developed a great friendship. Yesterday, the girls came over with their boys to visit me and Sophie! It was such a treat to have them over and to spend time with them. Amber's son, Ari, liked Sophie and would gently touch and tickle her while Brody, Amanda's son, wasn't too sure about her. Hopefully Bro and Ari will visit again soon to play with Soph. She just loved their company!!!

Sophie's BIG Sister
Our best friends Tim and April offered to take care of Lucy when Sophie was born. When they brought Lucy home she was wearing this...
Lucy is very good around Sophie. We call her our Katy Nana (like the dog from Peter Pan). She loves sleeping under Sophie's crib and checks on Soph every now and then if she starts fussing.

Pool Time
My mom's aunt and uncle made a cross country trip this summer and we got to spend some time with them as they passed through Arizona. They even bought Sophie a swimming starter kit! She got an adorable hooded towel, a pool floating toy, and a bathing suit. We just had to try the swimsuit on Soph and take a dip in the pool! The water in the pool was in the 90's so it felt like bath water. Since Sophie LOVES baths she felt completely relaxed in the pool as long as the sun was out of her eyes. We only stayed in for a bit but I am sure we will be spending lots of time in the pool as Soph gets older. Thank you Aunt Linda and Uncle Dickie for Sophie's gifts! She will get A LOT of use out of them!!!

Out and About
Our poor little Sophie girl just melts as soon as she is taken outside so we haven't gone out much these days. However, some nights we just need to get out of our house. So every now and then we meet up with Josh's parents and walk around AZ Mills. Its nice to get some exercise and to spend some time with Grammie and Pops! This last trip to AZ Mills we took out our new carrier for Sophie. Josh love, love, loves being able to put Sophie in it and she loves it too! Since her neck is incredibly strong these days we let her face outwards and she enjoyed viewing everything around her.

Babysitting Aiden
We LOVE our Sophie Girl
Words cannot express how much fun we are having this summer hanging out with our little girl! She is soo cute and the love of our life! Recently, Sophie has been
- pushing up onto her feet and standing (of course with our support)
- pushing off our hands during tummy-time and scooting around
- holding her head up and looking around
- going 4- 4 1/2 hours during feedings at night
- smiling a lot more these days (I can't wait to catch one with the camera!)
Pop's Birthday
There is a fun team rivalry between Josh and his dad. Delbert is a fan of the Diamondbacks and Josh has been a long time fan of the Cubs. Despite the fact that Josh is not a huge fan of the D-Backs he still supports his dad's love for the team. In fact we all do! That is how us "kids" came up with the idea for his birthday gift this year. Here is a picture of Delbert with his birthday gift...
Grammie and Pops are in their element these days and just love smooching on these two.
