Sophie Meets More Family

On Saturday, we took a trip to Peoria to visit some family and to introduce Sophie to them. Our first stop was to visit Josh's grandma at her nursing home with Grammie Sophie. Grandma has been there for about 2 years now and doesn't really say much however when she likes something she giggles a whole bunch. Needless to say, she giggled a lot when she met Sophie. It was adorable to watch them together and see the happiness that over took Josh's grandma as she gazed at Soph. This first visit to see Sophie's GiGi was so special and we look forward to lots more.
Isn't this precious?

Next we went to Aunt Mary and Uncle Dewaine's House. It is always nice to visit this lovely couple and have lunch with them.

Our last stop on Saturday was my parents house. That evening my Aunt Dede came into town and she was really excited to meet Sophie. As soon as she walked into the door she ran straight over to snuggle our little girl. It was so nice to spend time with her and everyone else that evening.

One Month Old

We are having so much fun this summer hanging out with our Sweet Sophie Girl. At the beginning of last week, our daughter turned one month old. Time is FLYING by way too quickly! We started Sophie on a flexible schedule as soon as she was born and she eats every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. She is such a good little eater and is growing like a weed. It has been fun admiring her pretty little eyes since she has been keeping those open more and more these days. Her waketime usually lasts about 1 hr. to 1.5hrs and during that time she loves looking around and practicing keeping her head up. It's amazing how strong she is!!! Since we both are home with her, she usually naps in our arms but occasionally we put her down and she does a great job. At night, she can sleep for at least one 4 hour period. Since I am nursing her, Sophie and I are usually the only ones that get up for her nighttime feedings but Josh has been a BIG help by taking on some of her feedings to let me get some rest. One of Sophie's favorite things to do is take a bath and get head massages. We just know that she would love the onsens in Japan because she is the most relaxed when she is soaking in her tub. Last but not least, Sophie cracked her first REAL smile at her daddy! She makes the most adorable facial expressions but there is nothing like her smile that just melts our hearts!

Josh is always helping sooth, cuddle, change, feed, burp, etc.. Watching these two together is one of my favorite things to do and I couldn't be more blessed to be married to such an incredible man and FATHER!
